Dav Whatmore set to take over as Zimbabwe coach

Dav Whatmore is set to take over as the coach of Zimbabwe. He will replace Stephen Mangongo who was sacked following a dismal five-month run. Whatmore will take over the reins ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup, 2015. Whatmore comes in with an impressive track record as a coach. He was the coach of Sri Lanka when they won the 1996 World Cup. Whatmore also coached Bangladesh in 2007 when they defeated heavyweights India and South Africa in the World Cup. He also had a successful tenure as coach of Pakistan.
A press conference has been scheduled tomorrow for the official unveiling of the coach. However, Zimbabwe's Test captain, Brendan Taylor took to twitter to welcome him on board.
