Michael Clarke ruled out of remainder of series against India

Michael Clarke, the Australia skipper, has revealed that he will not feature in the rest of the Test series against India. Clarke, who had a hamstring injury coming into the Test, injured his hamstring again and limped off the field on the final day of the first Test against India in Adelaide on Saturday.
It was in the 44th over of India's second innings when Clarke pulled up sharply while fielding at mid-wicket and left the field with the team physiotherapist, Alex Kountouris.
Clarke, who left the ground for scans to assess the injury, mentioned during the post-match presentation that the test results did not look too promising: "I had a scan and the results are not fantastic. (I'm) going to struggle to make any more part in the series."
Clarke needed to pass a fitness test on recurring hamstring troubles before playing in the Adelaide Test, but looked as if he was well on the mend. He suffered a back spasm while batting in the first innings on Day 1 and had to retire hurt on 60. However, he returned to bat and scored a fighting 128 and fielding during both Indian innings.
Clarke also hinted that this could be the last time he played for Australia and added that his body would dictate his future. "There's a chance I may never play again. I've got to be honest with myself," added Clarke after the match.
Clarke has a history of chronic lower back issues and a related hamstring injury. While Australia will be hoping that he recovers as quickly as possible, his absence might provide Shaun Marsh an opportunity to play a few matches.
