With Phil Hughes' untimely death, it left the entire cricketing landscape in a state of shock. Now, the cricket community is getting ready to attend Hughes' funeral and pay emotional tributes to him in his home town of Macksville in New South Wales. Here are the details related to funeral of Hughes as reported by cricket.com.au.
The funeral will be held on December 3 at Macksville High School, Macksville, New South Wales. To attend the funeral, extra flights have been scheduled by Qantas and Virgin Australia to travel to Coffs Harbour airport. It is the nearest airport to Macksville.
Around 5000 people are expected to be in mourning at Macksville and arrangements have been made for the same. Phil Hughes' family is also reportedly touched with the public support shown so far and want as many people as possible to attend the funeral.
The entire Australian Test squad along with the New South Wales squad is expected to be in attendance. Michael Clarke, Aaron Finch and Tom Cooper will be amongst the pallbearers.
The funeral will be shown live across the major cricket stadiums in Australia through big screens.Channel Nine will broadcast it live, with ABC Radio and Fairfax providing radio coverage. The live telecast is expected to start at around 1.30 PM AEDT.
